The Beth Abi ("My Father's House") children's home in Chennai, India, provides a caring Christian home for children who are either orphans or whose family is unable for some reason to take care of them. The children are given good food, a family environment and the opportunity to go to school and recieve a good education. They will also have the opportunity to learn about Jesus and the Christian faith. The home was founded and is managed by Jeevaraj Hudson, who is known personally to several members of Christ Church. He employs a Christian couple, with two young children of their own, to live in the home and look after the children on a daily basis. Several young people from his church, including Cynthia, who spent three years at Christ Church Lille, are involved in organising activities for the children and helping them with their studies.
Some members of Christ Church have already contributed to the home's expenses and the church council has taken the formal decision to continue this support for a minimum of five years.
Suzanne Bray will be visiting the home over the Christmas holidays and has promised to bring us back some photos of the home and the children and the people who care for them. So stay tuned!
