Our Congregation
Christ Church is the only English speaking church in the city and
surrounding area. It is primarily an Anglican church, belonging to the
Church of England’s Diocese in Europe, and is a part of the worldwide
Anglican Communion. All our services and most other activities are held
in English and we warmly welcome all Christians who wish to worship in
English.
Lille is a lively European university city with a growing international
and cosmopolitan population. Our congregation is interdenominational
and multicultural and welcomes people from every part of the world.
During recent years, people from around 40 countries and from 6
continents have spent time with us. These have included students who
come to study at one of the educational centres in Lille, and families
with a parent who works for one of the many multinational companies or
international organisations based in the area. Other members are
married to French people, and settled here. We also welcome many
tourists who are discovering the attractions of Lille.
Our Chaplain, Canon Debbie Flach, is an ordained minister of the Church
of England, but our congregation is neither expected nor obliged to
change their denominational allegiance in order to become a member of
the church.
